Call of Duty ELITE officially shuts down

If you're currently using the Call of Duty app for Call of Duty: Ghosts, you know it was designed to build on what began with Call of Duty: Elite – it gives you access to your Clan Mates, it shows your stats from Ghosts, and offers new functionality too, not least of which is Call of Duty Clan Wars. But with the emergence of the current app, the Clans FAQ that went up late last year mentioned that Call of Duty Elite would eventually be phased out this year, only supporting previous games like Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II "through early 2014." This Friday, February 28, is actually the last day of Call of Duty Elite functionality.
What that means for you is that if you downloaded either the free Call of Duty Elite mobile or console app, you can delete those from your devices; they will no longer function after Friday, so they'll just be taking up precious storage space. But if you haven't already transitioned over to the Call of Duty app for Ghosts, now's a good time. It's free, it's extremely useful, and it's available for many more platforms than the Elite app.
As an extra thank-you for supporting Elite, users who have logged into the Call of Duty: Elite service since January 1, 2014 will receive two hours of Double XP in Call of Duty: Ghosts. This special bonus Double XP will show up in your Call of Duty: Ghosts profile soon.
