We are currently wrapping up work on Project Reality v0.8 and we now have what you've all been waiting for, a release date! Project Reality v0.8 will be released via FilePlanet.com on Friday the 29th of August, 2008. The full public release will follow on Saturday the 30th of August, 2008. The Project Reality Team has spent countless hours working on new assets and overcome many obstacles to bring you this completely new version which includes numerous new gameplay changes, weapons, and vehicles which we hope will make your current realistic combat experiences on the Battlefield 2 engine even better!

Project Reality v0.8 Teaser
Now, that is not all we have for you today! With the help of the Sir. Community, we have a small v0.8 teaser for you that shows off all the new maps and some new assets you will find in Project Reality v0.8.

New Maps in Project Reality v0.8
We all know our Community has been long awaiting some new maps and we believe that none of you will be disappointed with the five new maps in PR v0.8. That's right folks, there are five very polished new maps included in PR v0.8, each with its own unique style of gameplay that we are sure you all will love!

-Korengal Valley
Developed by [R-DEV]coderedfox, this map started off as a community map, with the dev team quickly spotting [R-DEV]coderedfox's potential. The map will feature some very intense Close Quarter Battles, between our new US Army and the Taliban in Northern Afghanistan. With plenty of ambush points for the Taliban to take out oncoming convoys with their IEDs, and plenty of compound and room clearing for the US Army, this is insurgency like you've never seen before.

-Muttrah City (v2)
Developed by [R-DEV]Rhino, this sequel to the infamous coastal city assault will not disappoint. The map has been in development for over a year, with many members of the team putting countless hours of work into making this map as realistic as possible. The map will feature an Amphibious, Air Assault by the USMC in an attempt to capture the Capital of Oman, Muttrah City. However, with MEC forces dug in hard within the city, it will require lots of hard urban combat, with air and ground support on hand to help win the battle.

-Operation Barracuda
Originally developed [R-DEV]duckhunt, [R-DEV]Dr_Rank continued with the map whilst [R-DEV]duckhunt joined the Royal Marine Commandos. This map will offer some very intense combat between the USMC and China, as they defend a small island that has various strategic objectives on it including an Air Field and Missile Silo. The map will feature lots of different types of action such as beach assaults, jungle combat with some helicopter air support thrown into the firefight.

-Ramiel
Developed by [R-DEV]OkitaMakota. Set in a huge expanse of urban slums, this map is sure to reel in memories of the famous Black Hawk Down incident. The map will feature urban combat between the US Army and the Insurgents, who will be setting up ambushes down the narrow corridors, as well as bringing down any Black Hawks coming their way in a attempt to stop the US Army taking out their ammo caches. It's business as usual for the insurgents.

-Tad Sae
Developed by [R-DEV]Nickbond592, this map will feature some intense jungle combat between the USMC and PLA forces in an attempt by the USMC to gain control over the river and surrounding area to stop supplies being shipped down-river. Featuring picturesque views that could rival Jabal, prepare for some gritty mountain based combat. That's if you can stop yourself from admiring the view!
