Ihr habt eine Frage, Problem oder einfach nur Spass am Chatten ? Besucht das ClusterWars.net Team mit vielen anderen Stratego Spiele Server Freaks in unserem IRC-Channel! Wir freuen uns über jeden Besucher und Idler in unserem Channel #stratego im QuakeNet Netzwerk!
Für alle die, die nicht wissen, was IRC ist, und schon gar nicht wissen, wie sie sich unserem Kanal (Channel) beitreten können, hier eine kleine Einführung.
IRC (= Internet Relay Chat) ist ein recht bekanntes Chat System und existiert seit vielen Jahren, ja man glaubt es kaum - länger als MSN, Skype, ICQ oder Xfire...
Über die Jahre haben sich verschiedene IRC Netzwerke gebildet. Alle existierenden IRC Netzwerke bestehen immer aus mehreren Servern global verteilt.
Bei Gamern das wohl bekannteste Netzwerk ist das Quakenet. Hier befindet sich auch unser Chat Kanal. Um am IRC teilzunehmen benötigt man ein IRC Client-Programm. Es gibt viele verschiedene dieser Client Programme, aber das wohl bekannteste ist mIRC.
Für diesen IRC Client gibt es mehrere Zusätze die man sich in Ruhe zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt ansehen und bei Bedarf nachinstallieren kann. Eine interessante Abwandlung basierend auf mIRC ist Gamers.IRC und auf jeden Fall einmal Wert sich anzuschauen.
Nach der Installation des mIRC könnt ihr euren Nickname vergeben, genauso einfach wie ihr zum Beispiel einen Namen für die ClusterWars.net Webseitenregistrierung verwendet habt.
Bei der Abfrage des gewünschten IRC Netzwerkes entscheidet ihr euch für das Quakenet. Mit dem "Blitz" Icon du dich nun ins Quakenet verbinden.
War die Verbindung erfolgreich, kann man auch mit einer Vielzahl von Befehlen (muss man aber nicht alle kennen am Anfang) arbeiten. Am Anfang geb in die Eingabezeile einfach "/join #stratego" ein (ohne die Hochkommas !) und schon bist du in unserem Channel - oder klick' einfach auf den Channelnamen oben!
IRC ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert und solltet ihr Fragen dazu haben, wendet euch bitte direkt an [RC]Hunter.

If you don´t know what IRC means and you have no idea how to connect to our channel, here a brief introduction what you need to do.

Over the years of existance a lot of different IRC networks were created. All existing IRC networks consist of several server distributed globally.
QuakeNet is the most known gamers network. Therefore our channel is part of it. To use IRC you require an IRC client program. There are many different clients available, probably the most known one is mIRC.
For this client do exist a lot of addons and as well an alternative version called Gamers.IRC, worth while to take a look at it, but not needed at the beginning.
After the client installation you can choose a nickname to be used, similar like you did choose a name for the clusterwars.net registration for example.
Once you get to the stage that the client ask you for a network, you choose Quakenet. Using the "flash" icon you will attempt to connect to the Quakenet network.
If the connection was established, you could use plenty of commands available (however you can learn them at a later stage). For the beginning just enter the following command at the command line "/join #stratego" (without the quotation marks) and voila! you will be in our channel, alternatively click on the channel name above.
